The Torii (鳥居) gate is a very recognizable piece of design from Japan and is a very significant part of the Shinto traditions of Japan. Since Inari (大稲) commonly seen as a God of harvest is also the God of foxes which is shown extensively throughout many shrines to Inari as the fox is also the messenger animal of Inari. One of the most iconic shrines to Inari is the famous Kyoto Torii gate "Walk" where you walk under hundreds of Torii gates all right next to each other. Throughout this shrine there are many fox statues that are for thanking and appreciating Inari's messengers. We took the symbolism of the fox under the Torii gate and made it into a simple pocket t-shirt design.
