This shirt draws inspiration from the Itsukushima Shrine gate located in the water slightly off the coast of Itsukushima where the main portion of the Shinto Itsukushima Shrine is held. The shrine was originally put up in 593 AD and has been keep up and maintained ever since with various addition and changes throughout the way. The shrine is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also one of Japan's 6 National Treasures.
